Stacy Hobbs' Biography, of sorts.....
Born and raised in East Tenn, Stacy started picking when he was 16 years old. In fact, he traded his 1966 Dodge Dart for his first guitar and amp! Ever determined, he hooked up with local guitar guru Les Dotson, and off he went ! To the woodsheds of East Tenn !! Before long he found himself enrolled in the Music Dept at East Tenn State University. He enjoyed a brief stay while joining the ETSU Jazz Singers' jazz ensemble, performing gigs throughout the state. Stacy then took to the road and found himself in Southwest VA where he found another good woodshed! Stacys influences are far reaching, first being blues, rock/pop, celtic, classical, jazz, and anything thats good ! "My playing has become this energetic synthesis that melts stylistic borders; though you could look at my set list and see where Im coming from!" Stacy says. Stacy has been fortunate to have played on the bill with many of todays top acoustic performers including; Michael Chapdelain, Doug Smith, David Bromberg, Stephen Bennett, Muriel Anderson, the late Buster B Jones, John Doan, Andy McKee, Maggie Sansone, and more ! Stacy has recorded eight CD's of instrumental music, several titles have long been sold out but many are availible on this site!
